Institutions and Cooperation with Research Diasporas
Institutions benefit from engaging with scientific diasporas as it allows them to strengthen their research initiatives while simultaneously contribute to the effective transfer of knowledge within their academic communities.
In addition, through the cultivation of partnerships with scientific diasporas, institutions gain significant advantages as members of the diaspora often have established connections that can help home countries expand into new markets and attract foreign investments.
Furthermore, members of the diaspora can serve as consultants to governments and institutions that encourage collaboration with scientific diasporas. In this capacity, they can contribute to shaping policies that foster scientific progress and enhance institutional development.
If your institution wishes to support the process of establishment of such scientific networks check the following publication: Seven Steps to Establishing a Sustainable Scientific Diaspora Network.
Database of scientific diasporas collected by EURAXESS network might help you start the collaboration but also to get inspired what types of scientific diasporas operate in other countries.
