    Apply to pitch at JFS Matchmaking Session “New Materials and Green Transition"

    On 26 February 2026, JFS will organise an online Information and Matchmaking Session on the 10th STI Joint Call for Proposals and the topic "New Materials and Green Transition". The Information Session will provide an overview of the call objectives, scope, eligibility conditions, and application procedures. Participants will also receive guidance on proposal preparation and evaluation criteria, as well as practical information on good and bad practices. The Matchmaking Session aims to facilitate the formation of high-quality, transnational consortia by connecting potential applicants from Europe and Southeast Asia.     Recording Available: EURAXESS ASEAN Webinar on HE Work Programmes 2026-27

    On 19 January 2026, EURAXESS ASEAN organised its first webinar in 2026 and introduced the newly released Horizon Europe Work Programme 2026–2027 (published in December 2025). The webinar focused on collaborative research projects under Pillar II and its thematic clusters. Participants gained insights into key funding opportunities, priority areas, and how ASEAN researchers and organisations could engage effectively in Horizon Europe, strengthen international collaboration and participation in EU–ASEAN research projects.     Alumni Testimonial: Assoc Professor Dr Sopheak Srun, MSCA RISE

    We are pleased to highlight the work of Professor Dr Sopheak Srun from Cambodia. He is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and a researcher at the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology. Together with his project team at RULE, he participated in the H2020 – MSCA RISE project “IKID: Institutions for Knowledge Intensive Development: Economic and Regulatory Aspects in South-East Asian Transition Economies.” The project was coordinated by Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), Estonia.

    Join MCAA Survey on Artificial Intelligence

    Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly influencing how research is conducted across disciplines. From data analysis and literature reviews to writing assistance and decision-making, AI tools are already being adopted for a wide range of research and professional tasks. Yet questions remain about awareness, ethical considerations, training needs, and infrastructure support for the responsible use of AI in science. The Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) has launched a survey to gather insights on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is shaping research and innovation across the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) community. MSCA fellows and alumni are invited to complete the survey by 15 February 2026.

Following the release of the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2026–2027 in December 2025, these Info Days offer an excellent opportunity to refresh your knowledge or gain a deeper understanding of how the Work Programmes are structured—and how you and your organisation can benefit.     Last year, we started a series on our social media channels to introduce outstanding researchers from Southeast Asia who are advancing science through Horizon Europe–funded projects. Through their work and experiences, we hope to build a vibrant regional community and foster new connections between researchers and institutions across ASEAN and Europe. In this short article, we feature Professor Dr Kevin Heng. Professor Heng is Chair Professor of Theoretical Astrophysics of Extrasolar Planets at the Faculty of Physics, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in Germany. He is a recipient of an ERC Synergy Grant (SyG) for the ambitious project “Geoastronomy.”

Slovenia offers international researchers a dynamic and collaborative research environment, with strong support from the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (ARRS) and active participation in Horizon Europe. We have selected a few Horizon Europe–related opportunities currently open in Slovenia, highlighting the country’s strengths in industrial research, doctoral training, and advanced digital and scientific innovation.

    The Romanian Cultural Institute offers a grant scheme for foreign researchers to carry out a three-month research stay in Romania, in close collaboration with a Romanian host institution. The programme aims to strengthen international academic exchange and promote Romania as a destination for high-quality research in the humanities and social sciences. The grants support research and documentation projects related to Romanian culture, social sciences, humanities, economics, architecture, arts, and closely related fields. The programme encourages in-depth engagement with Romanian institutions, archives, and academic communities.
