In cooperation with the University of Žilina, we are organizing a workshop within the EURAXESS Slovakia network. Coaches from the organization ZAKO will guide you through how to develop communication skills and how to present yourself effectively.
The workshop will be held in English and is intended mainly for PhD students (R1) but also for early-stage researchers (R2).

Part 1: Communication and Presentation Block
- How to communicate effectively in professional contexts
- Appreciative inquiry – identifying and strengthening existing skills and techniques
- Core skills of empowering communication
- How and where to present yourself and your research topic
- Mining presentation resources – brainstorming opportunities, addressing major challenges, collecting tips & tricks for effective presentation
- Types of audiences and how to structure information for them
- Science pitch – preparation & presentation
Part 2: Self-Presentation
- Self-presentation and self-promotion
- Brainstorming: “How to appear professional”
- Networking tips and tricks
- Simulated interviews (role plays)
- Most common interview questions
Throughout the workshop, participants will receive empowering feedback.
