Autumn is here - and so are new opportunities to explore Slovakia, meet new people and enjoy some time together! 🍁
EURAXESS Slovakia warmly invites international PhD students, researchers and university teachers currently staying in Slovakia to join our Autumn Fridays 2026 with EURAXESS - a series of networking events taking place in Bratislava, Košice, Žilina and Nitra.
Following our Spring Adventures, we are back with another series of afternoon activities. This time, each city will offer a different experience, combining sightseeing, local history and culture, outdoor activities and, most importantly, an opportunity to meet fellow members of the international academic and research community in Slovakia.

📍 Bratislava I 16 October 2026 I Cable Car to Kamzík
Join us for an autumn afternoon surrounded by nature! We will head to Kamzík, one of Bratislava´s best-known recreational areas, and enjoy a cable car ride above the forests of the Bratislava Forest Park. It will be a great opportunity to enjoy the autumn scenery while meeting other international researchers and PhD students in an informal setting. Small refreshments will be available for you once we reach the top.
**Please note that the cable car does not operate in adverse weather conditions. Should the weather prevent us from taking the cable car, an alternative programme will be arranged, and registered participants will be informed approximately 2–3 days before the event.
📍 Košice I 23 October 2026 I Rákóczi House & Historic Pharmacy
Discover a piece of Košice’s fascinating history with us. Our programme will include a visit to Rodošto - the Memorial House of Francis II Rákóczi, dedicated to one of the most prominent noblemen and historical figures of the region, and the historic At the Eye of God Pharmacy, which offers a glimpse into pharmacy and everyday life in Košice in the past.
📍 Žilina I 30 October 2026 I Catacombs Tour
This time, we are heading underground! Join us in Žilina for a visit to the city´s catacombs and discover a side of Žilina that you might otherwise never get to see. Together, we will explore this unusual historical site while learning more about the city´s past.
📍 Nitra I 6 November 2026 I City Tour
Our autumn journey will conclude in Nitra with a guided city tour. Together, we will discover some of the city´s landmarks, history and atmosphere while enjoying an autumn afternoon in one of Slovakia´s oldest cities.

You are welcome to register for the event that is the most convenient for you. More detailed information about the meeting point, exact programme and timing will be sent to registered participants before each event.

If you plan to attend an event in a city other than your current place of stay, please note that transportation to and from the respective city is not provided by SAIA. Participants are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel costs.
